One must not pass through Portland without stopping at the breweries! There are plenty of them. Base Camp is located in inner SE Portland. It's got a relaxed atmosphere and outdoorsy-adventurer vibe going on with it. The beautiful interior lures you in with a high ceiling and images of camping and outdoor sports on the wall, along with wooden tables and bar. The patio is a great space; complete with gas fires you can sit around and roast marshmallows while you have your beer. There's a wide variety of beer to try; and while beer critics say it's not the absolute best beer in Portland, the average person will find some solid beers for sure. From light, to hoppy, to Belgian, to a stout garnished with a marshmallow, you will find a good brew to savor in this beer-loving, adventure-seeking atmosphere. You can also order food from one of the two connected food carts. Base Camp prides itself for it's, "Holistic approach to production, packaging, environmental awareness, customer service, and employee care". It's a great taproom to try if you're in the area!
