La capital de Mauricio y el mercado

Excelente

Port Louis es la capital de la isla, que se caracteriza especialmente por sus modernos edificios. Muy interesante es el mercado cubierto, que se encuentra justo en el centro de la capital y que está organizado en dos plantas: en la planta baja se encuentran principalmente frutas y verduras, muchas incluso por el suelo (caminamos sobre ellas), en la primera planta, en cambio, encontramos artesanías, especias, objetos de paja, resumiendo, los artículos más adecuados a los turistas y viajeros y residentes.

Si la planta baja es frecuentada en su mayoría por gente de la isla, en la primera planta se encuentran sobre todo los extranjeros en busca de algún objeto para llevar a casa como recuerdo. Nos abastecimos de especias (comino, azafrán, ají picante, una especia roja para hacer pollo tandoori) y compramos 6 esteras de paja de colores, ¡que todavía utilizo después de 6 años!

Lo más importante es negociar sobre cualquier artículo (sí, incluso en las especias), ya que es una práctica muy extendida en la isla, por lo que aunque el precio de base ya es bajo, aún deberá negociar, porque si no lo hace, puede ser que ofenda a los comerciantes (como me pasó a mí).
