Robinson Mountain

It seemed like I had called a fair portion of the population of Northwest Montana asking about Robinson Mountain. One had climbed it, a handful had heard of it, and no one had skied it. I talked to the county road supervisor – twice – asking about road conditions, and a slew of forest service recreation planners and rangers. I highly doubt it was a first descent, but at the same time I wondered who else was left that could have skied it? The actual ascent and descent were fairly straightforward, once you made the end-of-the-road remoteness that marks this place. I spent five hours climbing – could have done it in four but I followed the wrong ridge. The summit is marked by a lookout cabin which has obviously taken on decades of serious weather. The turns off the top were not bad, but hurried due to an approaching storm. Overall, it’s a nice place.

Parecía que me habían llamado una porción justa de la población del noroeste de Montana preguntar sobre Robinson Montaña. Uno había subido él, un puñado había oído hablar de él, y nadie había esquiado él. Me pasé cinco horas subiendo podrían haberlo hecho en cuatro, pero seguí el canto mal. La cumbre está marcada por una cabina mirador que obviamente ha tenido en décadas de tiempo seria. Las vueltas de la parte superior no estaban mal, pero apresurado debido a una tormenta que se aproxima. En general, es un lugar agradable.
