The Rake

The Rake is a classic craft beer bar in the heart of London’s [poi=297]Borough Market[/poi]. They have over 130 different beers and ciders in bottles, seven different taps, and a couple of cask ale pumps. If you have any doubts about what to order or are not sure about the differences between anything on tap, just ask the bartenders as they’re a jovial bunch and happy to give advice. They have a small menu of bar snacks like olive and chips and the like. The best part of the Rake (aside from the amazing beers, of course) is it’s outdoor terrace. If you go at lunchtime or right then work gets off, the place is jam-packed and you can barely squeeze through to get to the bar. However, if you go during an off-hour like I did (around 11:00am) you can get a cold, flavorful pint and sit out in the sun in their quaint little ivy-lined terrace. Believe me when I say it’s like an oasis of peace in the heart of busy, urban London. So, here’s what I recommend. The Borough Market gets going at around 10:30 or 11:00 in the morning. Head to the market, take a look around for a bit and sample some of the gourmet snacks on offer, then head to The Rake to enjoy a pint of craft beer in the sun.

El rastrillo es un clásico bar de cerveza artesanal en el corazón del mercado de la ciudad de Londres. Tienen más de 130 cervezas diferentes y sidras en botellas, siete grifos diferentes, y un par de bombas de cerveza de barril. Si usted tiene alguna duda sobre lo que pedir o no está seguro acerca de las diferencias entre nada de barril, sólo hay que preguntar a los camareros como ayúdales un montón jovial y feliz de dar consejos. Tienen un pequeño menú de aperitivos como el de oliva y las patatas fritas y similares. La mejor parte del Rake (aparte de las cervezas increíbles, por supuesto) es su terraza al aire libre. Si vas a la hora del almuerzo o la derecha entonces el trabajo se baja, el lugar está repleto y apenas se puede exprimir a través de llegar a la barra. Sin embargo, si vas durante un fuera de horas como lo hice (alrededor de las 11:00 am) se puede obtener una, pinta sabroso frío y sentarse en el sol en su terraza pequeña hiedra forrado pintoresco. Créeme cuando te digo que es como un oasis de paz en el corazón de la concurrida, Londres urbana. Así que, aquí está lo que yo recomiendo. El mercado de Borough se pone en marcha alrededor de las 10:30 o 11:00 de la mañana. Cabeza al mercado, echar un vistazo alrededor para un poco y probar algunos de los aperitivos gourmet que se ofrecen, luego ir a The Rake para disfrutar de una pinta de cerveza artesanal en el sol.
